Khan Day 2 August 1, 2014

Friday was a slow day at the convention. Again we were up at 8:00 am so that we could be setup and ready by 9:00 am.

The day was again filled with running errands and vendor room shopping. Didn’t see any panels but that was by choice. Enjoyed more stories from Jeff Coopwood. Watched over the Five Year Mission booth when the only person working it, (band leader’s wife), needed a little break. Wrap time was 7:00 then it was time to freshen up before the night’s activities began.

Karaoke night 2 was off the chain. One of the best performances of the night was done by two people I didn’t know at the time but then became friends with the next night; Eric and Adrianne. They were cosplaying as Data and Lal and they sang the most appropriate song. While I didn’t take this video, it was taken by my broadcast partner so I know I won’t get in trouble for using it.

Later in the night I did a crowd pleasing Purple Rain, and anyone who knows me knows that, that is my signature song. I am pretty sure there is a video of it but I am still waiting to get a copy.

After that the party really took off. Another member of the Roddenberry crew Darnell kept the 1984 theme going and got the party on it’s feet with a cover of “The Bird” by the Time.

Adrianne was part of a group that sang the hit “Love Shack!” Another great party song that got the crowd on its feet and even started a conga line. I wish I had video of all of this, if anyone comes across this blog and does have video I’d love to post it.

After karaoke it was back to the Masquerade bar for drinks, socializing and gambling. This went on until the wee hours of the morning before I finally went to bed to start in all again on Khan Day 3.
